Hi Scotty. i Have a 2000 Honda odyssey with the Navigation ac control system. My Ac will not blow hot for any reason. I turn from hot to cold, cold to hot and get no change in tempeature. I've confirmed that the Blend Door controls work but i noticed the controls for the wire connected to the Heater Control valve will not move. Is it a relay issue or is it something else? Thanks!
Your 25-year-old heater core may be clogged up, or the control valve not working. Are both heater hoses getting hot?
@chucktobias I checked one of them, but forgot to to check the other. I will check it tomorrow!
@chucktobias Hey sorry for the late late response. But i checked both hoses and their both getting hot.
If both hoses are hot you're getting flow through the heater core.
Is it possible it's the blower motor or the resistor?
I don't think you mentioned the blower motor was actually not working. You're not going to get much heat (or AC) with an inoperative blower. That being the case you need to do some basic electrical troubleshooting to determine the cause.
@chucktobias Oh sorry. In that case The blower motor is working. The AC still works. Ok will do.
I'm confused as to why the blower motor or resistor would be suspect if the blower is working. If your heater core is heating up but only cold air is blowing something in the ductwork is preventing the hot air from getting to the passenger compartment. Usually that would be an issue with the blend door.
@chucktobias I'll have to recheck that blend door or something because I did watch the blend door actuator and it is working.
If you can see the heater core without having to tear the dash apart you can use an infrared thermometer to verify its temperature.
its the blend door actuator getting stuck. You need a new blend door. If the blower motor resistor was going, certain speeds of the van wouldnt work
@bzboyd2 II know I was testing it to see if the actuator worked and it saw it working. I never thought that maybe it would get stuck midway or something, i'll check that out.
