| well it's a rare piece. Might even be worth some money. But it's going to be a high maintenance ride as a daily, both in fuel consumption and service required. I think I'd save it as a weekend toy. | |||||

| Squeaky “Wheeeeeeeee” Noise, First Car | 5Relevance | 2 years ago | izzybusy | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Howdy, everyone! I wish I was half as knowledgeable about cars as most here are, but unfortunately I don’t have a mechanic friend or much experience. Please help me out here… - My car’s a 2016 Subaru Crosstrek (I named her Cirrus), 4WD/AWD, assembled in the US. - She’s been around for 7 years and has roughly 90k miles on it now. - She often basks in the Florida sun and has been subject to a lot of speeding (not me, someone else) when she drives. - The most “maintenance” she’s gotten were free maintenances by Subaru, liquid+filter changes, a couple battery replacements, and new brake pads. (Very minimal) She has her fair share of front break pad usage issues before this noise appeared, but as my title implies, this noise is located roughly at the front of the vehicle, closer to the passenger side. It only really speaks up when the speed is higher than 20 mph, and decreases in volume as she slows down, to the point of not hearing it at all when not pressing the gas. There’s no thumping/clunking noises, nor I don’t think there’s anything wrong with the transmission’s gear ratio from what I understand of it. I can only guess it has to do with maybe transmission, the front tires (aka the breaks getting worse), or the engine… but I don’t have a sound machine of any sort. I have researched from other Subaru car owners that pistons can be a problem if not addressed in their sedans, especially at higher speeds… but I don’t know if that applies considering she’s not very powerful compared to the WRX or even BRX, not sure about the Legacy. The necessary fluids have recently been changed on it (all of them), so if there were any issues with any liquid being too low, I would think that would have been taken care of. That should be all! Thanks for reading! 🙂 | |||||
| Answer to: My daughter is buying her first car and looking at a Honda CR-Z for $8,000 it is a 2011 took it for a test drive it ran and function really well she fell in love with it is it a safe purchase? | 5Relevance | 3 years ago | Dan | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| ... Corolla CVT without a hybrid system. Also you didn't mention the milage... EDIT: So it's also high millage... but I see you used KMs - so I'm guessing you're not in the US so you might be using a different dollar and pricing in your region might be different. If it's in good condition, and a reasonable sum in your region - and a mechanic checks it out - eh, why not, it's decent and it's a cool first car. just be prepared to put in a new battery whenever the one that's in it goes bad... | |||||

| Scotty, I'm 16 and for my first car I daily drive a 1978 f-150 supercab lariat, 351m, c6 auto, 2wd with 49,000 original miles in Michigan that was parked since 1984 with one owner what do you think? I replaced all the break parts and lines and changed the fluids it also doesn't leak anything or burn oil. I also adjusted the timing and carb and it runs and drives perfect, the rides better than most new cars. I bought it from the original owners widow. He had 30 mint Lincolns and Mercurys and she was letting them go for $3,000. "I confirmed the miles from the ... | |||||

| The 1996 Chevrolet Impala SS is a great car. It has the Corvette LT 350 V8 engine and is a slighly milder example of the RPO code 9C1 - police cruiser. If you're ok with a car that old, Impalas had respectable dependability for that era. But it's a lot of car to be your first if you're not ready for the expense of a full size ride that's 27 years old. There are parts on every car that fail over time regardless of miles driven besides normal wear & tear. I would expect it to at best get 18 mpg on the highway and less in town. On the plus side the pro ... | |||||

| From anecdotal evidence, I’m pleasantly surprised to still see a ton of those on the road, like old Accords, Civics, Corolla, and Camry of that generation. But that is just anecdotal. It would be good to hear to folks with first hand experience. | |||||
