| Hello, I’ve recently been looking at buying a car. I’ve come across a 2014 Ford Escape SE with 180,000 miles driven exclusively in the suburbs of NJ. It has a 1.6L I4 Turbocharged engine with AWD. I know the ford Escapes have a lot of transmission issues but was wondering if it is worth buying for $4500? | |||||

| 2011 Ford Escape: Both Brake Lights Work, But Only One Tail Light Works | 13Relevance | 3 years ago | JacoBell006 | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Hello. I have a 2011 ford Escape with 140,000 miles on it. Both of the brake lights work, but only one of the tail lights come on. If it matters, it's the rear right one that doesn't work. I changed the bulb hoping it was just that, but it did not work. I also inspected the fuses, but found nothing wrong there as well. I figured I would take a look at the socket and inspect the wiring next. Does anyone have any experience with this or tips? Thank you | |||||

| Answer to: 2015 Ford Escape Transmission Replacement by Dealer who sold it to me | 13Relevance | 3 years ago | Maxie Nova Scotia | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| I had also contemplated something like that. I guess I need to get a short term reliable, not-too- expensive backup vehicle so I am not in stranded-rent-a-car like right now. Then I could make some choices. If I could have found that reliable-not-too-expensive vehicle initially I wouldn't have gotten the Escape. But thanks for the 2 sources, I will look into that. I also have a beloved Passat that requires trans work. I miss my standard shift cars. | |||||

| This implies they're going to install a junkyard transmission - yikes! Given the problems that model is prone to I'd be inclined to dump it. | |||||

| ... is a 2009 Ford Escape. P.S. I have diagnostic (+) work here I need help with, on a 72 F100 that probably needs a 4-barrel carb rebuild for a 302 (beyond my comfortable small engine carb rebuilds), and looking into my 87 Cherokee to sell and what it needs to run again after 5 years besides a battery. -Bill | |||||

| 05 Ford Escape does nothing when turn the key | 13Relevance | 3 years ago | GDash | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| I have an 05 Ford Escape that sometimes will not do anything when you turn the key. If you wait between 5 minutes and 30, it will start. It's only done this three times. It doesn't matter about the weather because it has done it when it was hot and dry and cold. When it wont start, I unhook the battery for a while, try to start it in neutral, move the steering wheel, and more things, and it does nothing when I turn the key. The battery is new and has good connection. What the heck man? Thank you | |||||
| Ford escape plastic T joint leak going to heater and coooler | 13Relevance | 3 years ago | Amaj | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Hi Scotty, this is AJ, I had ford Escape 2015 had coolant drops down after certain time. I had look and see some wetness on T joint that goes to heater cool and cooler. Motorcraft part no. 119575-05378140. As new ford got lot of plastic and coolant valve, I was wondering if it is good to use Risilone cooper radiator and intake leak stop in this model. It will not block anything in the coolant system in this vehicle or change the joint. As leakage is very minor Your advise please | |||||

| 2003 Escape sometimes won't start. | 13Relevance | 4 years ago | Mick Mossberg | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Hi Scotty! I have a 2003 Ford Escape, 2WD, 3.0L with 155K miles. It runs good and doesn't burn any oil. However, at random, about once every month or two, it just won't start -- no matter how much cranking it does. The funny thing is, if you leave the car sit overnight, it fires right up! (There are no codes other than a generic evap code which it's had for many years.) Your thoughts? Thank you Sir, Mick | |||||
