| Answer to: 2005 ford focus wasting more gas than my 2018 ford fiesta | 12Relevance | 2 years ago | Chuck Tobias | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Typically fueling problems have to do with the evap system. Have you actually measured the gas mileage? You can't judge it accurately by the fuel gauge. (The short answer as to why you're having problems with the focus is that it's a 19-year-old Ford.) | |||||
| Answer to: 2002 Ford Focus Evap System Issue | 12Relevance | 3 years ago | MountainManJoe | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| that depends on what your car is worth (condition, how it runs, how it was maintained etc.), and what the fix is. If it just needs a new gas cap , then yeah probably. But a focus with 180k doesn't have much life left in it. Can't really tell you without the full trouble codes and descriptions. If your dad is a mechanic, then he should be able to give you a diagnosis and cost estimate for repair. | |||||

| I have an automatic 2002 ford focus, with 180k miles, that is having a check engine light issue. My dad, a mechanic, said it is an evap issue. I am trying to save money and keep my car as long as possible with interest rates. Do you think it is worth it to try and fix my car before I have to smog my car in June? | |||||

| Hey Scotty, I am a big fan of your channel and could use your guidance. My mother-in-law has an automatic 2003 Ford focus and has a brake fluid leak. I found brake fluid on the ground by the driver side front and back tires. She later told me she had hit a curb pretty good on the driver side two weeks earlier that may have caused the damage. I am not sure yet which specific components are leaking yet. I am planning on working on it this weekend. I did see that her brake master cylinder reservoir is empty and heard it is really bad if that goes dry, but coul ... | |||||

| Hello, I have a Ford focus 2008 1.6 tdci and the Car cranks but does not start, I have changed the high-pressure pump because it had no pressure but it still did not start. I got the error for a bad camshaft sensor, changed that too and no start, I do not know what else could it be. Anyone got any idea or had the same problem? I want to add that there is no problem with the key and the immobilizer. | |||||
| Ford Focus steering problem | 12Relevance | 3 years ago | ElijahM | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| 2013 Ford focus SE automatic, 145,000 miles. The car had a recurring problem for a little while where the message "Steering assist fault, service required" would appear and would seemingly lose the power steering. Turning the car off and on again with a few twists of the wheel fixed it every time, until recently it didn't fix itself. Dealership told me it's most likely the rack and pinion and wants to charge me more than the car is worth, but the whole thing doesn't sit well with me. Having an independent mechanic check it out tomorrow, but would like to ge ... | |||||
| Which ATF do I put in my Focus | 12Relevance | 3 years ago | Scottydaman2023 | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Just bought a 07 focus has 115k miles Just spent almost $800 getting it legal Now I think the trans fluid is bad. Smells weird af. But doesn't slip. I see a sticker on the hood saying changed at 38k miles. So I'm pretty sure I can atleast manage to change the trans fluid and filter myself. What kind of fluid is usually recommended for these ford's? This is my first one. So I'm guessing fluid hasn't been changed since 38k miles or so. Is that like a super horrible thing? | |||||
| 2014 ford focus cat converter or dual clutch transmission issue? | 12Relevance | 3 years ago | Tsmiff98 | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Hello, I have a 2014 Ford focus Se with 130,xxx miles on it that shows a P0420 code (below efficiency threshold, bank 1) and shifts horribly at 2,000-3,000 rpm’s. It also has a code that says all data isn’t being transmitted (can’t remember exact code, apologies). The downstream 02 sensor has been replaced, accelerates better but still shifts horrible. Before I try to replace the catalytic converter, do you think it is indeed a catalytic converter issue, or something with the dual clutch transmission instead? (Stopped driving car after 02 was replaced with n ... | |||||

| It's best to match all wheel sizes evenly. Several rim sizes are used on a Ford focus. Check the two back rims/tires to aid with sizing. Here are a couple of aftermarket tire and wheel sites which can provide you with the typical rim size for your car model/trim. and The rubbing tire is likely to big. | |||||
| Ford Focus or Honda Civic? | 12Relevance | 3 years ago | yangrider2004 | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Hi there. I've been wanting a manual transmission car for a while so I can teach my siblings how to drive stick. All I want is a cheap beater car I can get from a dealer and have fun with it. I see many newer Ford focus's that go for under 10k with less than a 100k miles. I did some research and found that the automatic transmissions are terrible and will become a money pit. But on the other hand, the manual transmissions serve very well. The other option would be an 8th gen Honda civic with the 1.8L R18 4 cylinder. what would be the best option for a ni ... | |||||
