| Long unending story short, the garage I'm being sent to for inspections has a big mechanics wanted sign. I can dream can't I? I watch your videos and only want to work on my car. I know the answer is to just talk to them. But to be realistic, if you hired a self mechanic what would it take? We're by word of mouth mechanics in my family. Grandpa taught dad, and dad kinda taught me. But you teach me haha so I know some stuff by now! It's gonna be really hard to get a job here by just only being able to kinda work on my car right? Ford's engineers produced a license-built copy of a ZF 6-speed transmission and termed it the 6R80. They put them in their F-150s and Mustangs. Ford started manufacturing that transmission in 2011 and they got the kinks with lead frames worked out by 2014. I have that transmission in both my truck and Mustang. | I have a 2010 Honda accord EX-L 2.4l 4cylinder with around 240,000 miles. She’s been well taken care of and has ran like a dream until yesterday when I was driving and the VSA light came on and the throttle started acting funny. When I was driving it would jerk like it downshifted real hard when I’d let off the gas and jerk again when I barely put any pressure back on the pedal. I recently bought one of my childhood dream cars as a weekend toy, it's a 2006 Mercedes s65 AMG (w221 generation) with 62k miles and full service history. 5-speed automatic. Just out of curiosity I tried out what it could do on the German Autobahn (at night, it was empty) and the electronical speed limiter kicked in at 304 km/h (about 190 mph). Not sure if this is related, around 10/27, there was a relay jumped out somewhere around the footbrake release pull area when I was releasing the footbrake. My Kia Rio is currently at 97K miles (no transmission service that I know of yet) and I don’t know if I should service the transmission or just ride it till the wheels fall off.
