| RE: Ford Focus - Ford Part on Back Order no ETA - What now? | 18Relevance | 4 years ago | edfoc2b | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Thank you for commenting on the Ford focus TCM issue. I have a 2014 focus S(46k miles) that is currently sitting since 8/13/22 at the attentive Maplecrest Ford Lincoln of Union NJ while I and they wait for Ford Co makes it a priority to provide the TCM part us. I don't see how Ford functions when reportedly they have 45k new vehicles sitting idle awaiting parts. I am glad that Ford is not abandoning the gas driven vehicles but I wonder if their investment in the electric vehicle plant in Tennessee has most of their attention. Ed A | |||||
| Should I fix my 2005 Ford Focus? | 18Relevance | 4 years ago | onaroll1971@yahoo.com | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Good Evening, I have an 05 focus wagon with 150k miles; runs good but shakes and vibrates. I'd like to replace the motor mounts, brakes, belt, starter, spark plugs, coils and alternator. I have the parts. What would you charge? I live in North Georgia. You may want to do a video on it because of the miles. [The following was originally placed in the title line and was cut off due to length] Good Evening. I have an 05 Ford focus wagon with 150k miles and it runs pretty good, but it has some vibration. I probably need plugs and coils. I'd also like to have ... | |||||

| I am looking for another solution to the 2003 to 2008 focus air box- and not a cold air intake. On 2010 focus they have an air box with a replaceable filter does anyone know if a retrofit to a 2007 will fit? | |||||
| Answer to: 2017 Ford Focus SEL worth keeping? | 18Relevance | 4 years ago | Chuck Tobias | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Definitely not if it has the lousy "PowerShift" automated transmission that Ford keeps getting sued over. If so you'll want to get rid of it before the transmission craters. (If it has a manual transmission it might be OK for a while but engine problems and other issues have been reported as well. It's not a very good long-term vehicle.) | |||||
| Answer to: Ford Mondeo gearbox | 24Relevance | 3 years ago | Dan | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Hi, The powershift you're looking at is not the same one as the Ford focus (DPS6 "Dry"), it's the MPS6 ("Wet") - perhaps even the MPS6i (“improved”) The wet is the same transmission as the Mitsubishi Lancer EVO race car, Volvos, and is closely related to the transmissions inside of race cars (7DCI600 for BMW M series, 7DCL750 and 8DCL900 on Mercedes AMG/Ferrari) - so the Ford 6DCT450 is a real performance dual clutch. But it does have a serious flaw, The Wet Powershift achieves more favorable driving characteristics by suspending the clutch packs in ... | |||||
| How to remove the diesel smell? | 24Relevance | 5 years ago | Gremlin72 | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| I was hauling a diesel can in the trunk of my Ford focus, another driver caused me to hit the brakes and some the diesel from can spilled in my carpeted trunk. I power washed the carpet (removed from the car) in the trunk of the focus and I’m letting it dry in the garage. I cleaned the inside of the trunk with water and vinegar mix. The inside of the trunk does not smell. However the removable carpet does. Time hit wrecking yards for new carpet for the trunk? I have a 50 HP Case tractor, which why I had diesel can in the car to begin with. The focus ... | |||||

| Answer to: Should I Trade My Focus For A SUV? | 18Relevance | 4 years ago | FJCruiser2014 | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| I'm going to assume buying new suv since you haven't indicated. See what you can get for the focus you currently have, then see what price the suv you want is (in this market good deal is msrp), then see if you want to wait or not. But do remember in normal conditions you would never get what you'll be getting now for the focus. Also, msrp price is increasing too; I'm seeing this with multiple Honda and Toyota vehicles. As for what to get depending on your needs Rav4 or Highlander or cr-v. | |||||
| Answer to: Ford Focus Electric vs Nissan Leaf | 18Relevance | 4 years ago | infinitifxfan | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| As someone who has a 2017 focus Electric, it's not a very practical vehicle considering it's a hatchback. If you value practicality, I would buy the Leaf. In terms of reliability, I feel like the focus is better because the battery is water-cooled unlike the passively cooled battery in the Nissan. I currently have under 49 000 km on the original battery and we barely spent money on repairs. | |||||
| RE: Is 2011 ford Focus 2.0 fuel port injection or direct injection? | 18Relevance | 4 years ago | Charliem45 | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| I was looking at cylinder heads on ebay. I compared a 05-07 ford focus 2.0 cylinder head with a 2008-2011 ford focus cylinder head. They look the same, since the old 05-07 head is port injection then that means the 2008-2011 are port injection too. I also research the 2012-2014 those have different inlets of the fuel injectors which are located in the block. Those are Di for sure. | |||||
| Answer to: 2014 Ford Focus Transmission Control Module | 24Relevance | 1 year ago | Markphil01 | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| For the 2014 Ford focus, the Transmission Control Module (TCM) is a critical component that controls gear shifting and overall transmission operation. Common issues with the TCM in these models include erratic shifting, stalling, and complete loss of transmission functionality. If you're experiencing such problems, it's important to first check if your vehicle is covered under the extended warranty for the TCM, which Ford has increased to 10 years or 150,000 miles due to known issues. For detailed guidance on diagnosing and fixing these issues, consider Gea ... | |||||

| ... them cores from junked focuses, but they aren't buying them. The TCMs were all stripped out of the pick a part focuses and Fiestas anyways. I bought a 2013 focus in late June. I knew the focus had transmission problem, but figured Ford had all that sorted by now. The focus was one the few used cars I could find that weren't crazy expensive. It ran great for two months before the transmission began intermittently loosing gears 2, 4, 6 and reverse. The Ford dealership said it was the TCM and it was covered under extended warranty. They put me on the waiti ... | |||||

| Hi, I also own a Ford focus with about 75k miles, although mine is a 1.6L 2014 with the "Trend" trim level. I have only replaced my clutch once (and it wasn't even really worn out, It just started having a very minute stutter on long rides) with no other repairs being done to the transmission. Judging by the repair history of your vehicle, I'd assume that There could possibly be an issue outside of the transmission that causes it to wear out faster then it should, knowing Ford, I'd check the battery, the grounding of the electronics.
