| Coolant Disappearing 2008 Mazda3 hatch | 19Relevance | 3 years ago | kiwieggz | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| I own an automatic 2008 mazda3 Hatchback with 131,000 miles. I've changed the radiatior, radiator fans, water pump, thermostat, and tempature sensor. My car overheated for the first time back in July 2022. Not sure what it is I changed but it was back to normal. Suddenly multiple things started to fail like the radiatior etc. Recently my car is driveable, but my tempature gauge goes above normal tempature when I drive my car for the first 20 minutes and then goes back to normal. It will randomly reach a little too close to H but will go down eventually. My h ... | |||||

| Hi Scotty, I have a 2007 mazda3 2.0L, manual with 186,000 kms/ 116,000 miles, and I believe that the starter solenoid needs replacing. Recently we had a cold snap where it hit -13C/ 8.6F (it normally doesn’t go much below 0C/ 32F. The car would not start/ turn over but there was a faint clicking sound and the interior backlights would go on. It has a new battery last summer, and a remanufactured starter August 2019 at 140,000 kms/ 87,000 miles. Here in Canada if I chose to replace the entire starter the part is about $360 (with core fee) and if I chose t ... | |||||
| 2016 Mazda3 i-Sport Transmission Shifting Hard | 19Relevance | 4 years ago | aspiller98 | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| My wife's 2016 mazda3 i-Sport base model with 53,000 miles recently developed rough/hard shifting. When the car has sat for the engine/transmission to completely cool, upon restarting and driving the car shifts hard. When changing from reverse to drive it sometimes takes up to 4 seconds for the drive gear to engage. Likewise, once in drive shifting is often hard, with slight to moderate jolting. However, once the "cold" icon goes away, the car shifts and drives perfectly fine. I am getting the "lifetime" (BS) transmission fluid changed as we speak. O ... | |||||

| Mazda3 strut assembly replacement maddening | 19Relevance | 4 years ago | Galabonic | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Replacing the front strut assembly on my 2013 mazda3 I touring hatchback 155K miles. We are having a maddening time getting the new strut assembly in the steering knuckle. I ordered a steering knuckle spreader to try next. We tried shaking, hitting, silicon spray, chisel ... It goes in maybe a millimeter. Besides trying the steering knuckle spreader, I'm going to sand off the paint up to the where it will go in. It's no wonder auto repair costs so much. Any tips and tricks from the pros? | |||||

| I agree, I'll just add that in case of the mazda3, I'd limit that to until 2014-2018 (Third generation) as I'm hearing very nasty things about the new ones from mechanics and owners. But they weren't that bad for the 2nd gen either, it's not like the pre-powershift Focus is that bad. | |||||

| Scotty, I'm looking at a 2011 mazda3 i Touring with 113,500 miles. 2.0L 4-Cylinder DOHC 16V VVT with automatic transmission. A local dealer is asking $8775. I'm helping my daughter look for a reliable used car and this is around her budget. By the Carfax it appears to have been maintained well with regular oil changes, etc and no accidents reported. Would this be a reliable car? Thank you | |||||
| Answer to: 2011 Mazda3 Maintenance | 19Relevance | 4 years ago | jack62 | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Just make sure you're caught up on the scheduled maintenance. The one that's a little unique on your mazda3 is, "tighten bolts and nuts on chassis and body every 30,000 miles". I also think they're being a little too liberal on the oil change interval. Then again, I still do my oil changes every 3,000 miles. I guess since you're using synthetic you could extend that to every 5,000 miles. I would never stretch it to 7,500 miles. | |||||

| I own a 2011 mazda3 sedan with almost 117,000 miles. My vehicle was manufactured in Japan so I take even further exceptional care as I want to see this vehicle give me another 10 years of service. All tires, brakes, battery are all new and I regularly change the oil which is fully synthetic. At the 117,000 miles mark any tips or recommended maintenance? My Mazada purrs like a kitten and I am the sole owner. Thanks Scotty! | |||||

| Mazda3 Positive weird Long term fuel trim and recurring PO138 code | 19Relevance | 4 years ago | alexssali97 | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| My 2010 mazda3 with 100k miles runs like a clock. But last week the check engine light came on with the same PO138 (high circuit o2 sensor bank 1 sensor 2) code. It disappeared the next day and has not come back since. But this is the second time this year the light came on for the same code (happened during spring and it went away until now). I checked the short term fuel trim and it’s between 1.0 and 0 and -1.0. Also the long term fuel trim was at 6.3. I thought the fuel injectors were probably clogged so I used royal purple max clean fuel injector cleaner ... | |||||

| 2008 Mazda Mazda3. s Sport Hatchback 4D | 19Relevance | 5 years ago | ManHonda | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| I am looking to buy a 2008 Mazda mazda3. s Sport Hatchback 4D (154,738) miles for 2,500. I am about an hour away so I haven't seen the car yet. Judging from the pictures, the exterior and interior are in good shape. The owner says there's no check engine light, and that they have been driving it with no issues whatsoever. They have a receipt to show they recently changed the brakes and the rotors. They say the muffler hangs a bit but doesn't make any noise, and has no impact on the performance of the car. I posted here a while back asking what car anyone w ... | |||||
