| The Express is junky but still a decent van. The Promaster is basically a Euro Fiat badged as a Ram, I'd avoid it. The Sprinter is a good van but its a Mercedes so expect $$$$ maintenance. Transits are OK but the Sprinter diesel is the one you want in that class. Nissan could be alright for a while but won't be reliable long-term. MO its Express/Savana vs Sprinter (diesel prefered), and your budget would decide which one it is. | |||||

| ... Van for this propose is by far the "Nissan NV3500 High Roof" - It's a Nissan Titan truck with a panel van body installed on it. And as a result you get a well built 5.6-litre V8 with a reliable 7 speed automatic transmission. This powertrain and huge rear compartment allows for the ability to build an insanely luxurious camper. The most popular option is the Mercedes Sprinter, but they tend to be pricy. | The Mercedes Sprinter is a great option, but avoid small gasoline engines (available on some markets) I’m unsure if it is available where you live, but in many parts of Europe the previous generation VW Crafter was the “default” mini-bus, it’s built by Daimler (Mercedes) In some parts of the world VW even sells the new generation as a pre-built motor-home called “VW Grand California 680” The Ford Transit (if you can find one with low mileage and a good engine - AVOID the ecoboost) can be a good truck, but not as good as the Sprinter / Crafter. | Let's get the record straight - A good diesel like an Opel Corsa 1.3L creates 82 grams per km - while your Accord produces 2.5 times that (211 g/km, the lowest figure I found was 177)Without AdBlue or any of these emissions systems? well a Renault Megane III large family car dCi diesel does 120g/km that's still much less than your Accord.Actually your Accord creates as much pollution as this BUS, while consuming 2-3 times the natural resources as a diesel car would (not to forget to mention it transports 19+ people while your car is probably used only by 2 at a time)What people claim is that diesels create small particles but as a matter of fact your accord's wonderful 2.0L isn't equipped (at least in most parts of the world as far as I know) with a gasoline particle filter meaning it creates more particles than a diesel with AddBlue.- -So before you go out slamming the cars that those in need of cheap reliable transportation (it's not like people in Australia or the rest of the world are buying diesel because of reasons other than economy), maybe check you own car?-I fully agree with @mmj, If you believe in climate theories - make your own choices and hold China, India and Pakistan accountable. But I guess why not make someone who lives in a country that creates only 1.16% (Australia - where I live it's something like 0.2%) of the total pollution suffer with his perfectly ecological car? | Hi Scotty We plan to purchase a minivan in the near future. Between Sienna hydrid All-Wheel Drive and V6 Honda Odassey, which one would be more reliable? more quiet? Since 2021 Sienna is new with hydrid engine, do you think that it will last as it is a Toyota product? For Honda Odassey, does it still have transmission problem? or is it good now? We're also considering the Ford Transit vs Mercedes Sprinter? which one would you think it is more reliable? Will the Sprinter last 300K miles with regular maintenance? Thank you | |||||

| I have a 2003 Dodge Sprinter. 2.7 diesel. 330,000 miles. I make deliveries in the city most days. Stay on city streets 95% of the time. The five speed tranny is original and well taken care of with regular fluid changes. I almost never go over 40-45 MPH in town. I hope to keep the transmission as long as the Sprinter. Many of these vehicles go 600,000 miles. Is it best to save a shift by keeping it in fourth gear while in the city. This saves one shift by not going into OD. It will go in OD at 40-45. | Use the search bar for in-depth answers, this has been asked a few times as far as I know. Modern day diesel Sprinter vans are recommended by Scotty and they are pretty good vans as long as you have the money to buy and maintain it. The Chevy Express is an ok van, low GM quality but mechanically reliable enough to consider. The Transit is an OK van at best, you are right that the engine and transmissios don't hold up beyond 100k miles. I think if you have a good budget to get a diesel Sprinter, if you are more on a budget heck the Chevy Express has bar ... | |||||

| Here is what I know Scotty says about them from memory:The Chevy Astro and Express vans are decent vans compared to GM's carsThe Transit is an OK van, they can be alright and some customers are happy with what they get but they do tend to have problems as they ageThe Sprinter van is a good van, especially the diesels, the gasoline not so much.The Nissan vans aren't that good, buy a Toyota Sienna as well.** Not what Scotty says, but I'm telling you, forget about the RAM.
