I need a new big vehicle. Big cabin for me (6'7" widebody). Periodic big hauling (inside or out or both) for camping and travel. I also want something as close to bulletproof as possible. I cant afford to drop $60-80k on a truck and then end up spending another $60k over the life of the vehicle in repairs.
I would gone with a Toyota Tundra or Sequoia a while ago but I am hearing really bad things about their new V6s.
I also considered a Mercedes Sprinter diesel, but they have gone and nerfed their engine as well when they ditched the v6.
I can still get v8 American Pickups and the GMC Yukon, but overall reliability with US vehicles has been lacking for a long while.
I don't see a clear winner in terms of longevity.
The options that meet my initial specs so far are:
Toyota Tundra or Sequoia
Ford F150 or Expedition
GMC Sierra 1500 or Yukon
Mercedes Sprinter 3500 or 4500
What would you choose and why? Feel free to point out any better options that I havent considered.
I would get a tundra or a Sequoia but only with V8. So you try to find a good used low mileage one. Unless they're still making sequoias with the V8? I'm not sure
