| Answer to: I bought two kia's in the same year cash, how screwed am I? | 19Relevance | 2 years ago | Dan | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| I bought two Kia's Well, it's NOT a good idea. (unless you REALLY know what you're doing) Generally, HMG GDi engines are crap. Read the fine print of the warranty VERY closely, have all the service receipts and make sure they include all the required services as per the owners manual. Forum member @MrBob owns two larger Kias made in recent years and they've been rough. Especially with 'initial reliability' And note the importance of very frequent service: Looking at the models you've picked out, you should've gotten a Sienna and Camry. ... | |||||
| Answer to: KIA CX-9 new Inline 6 | 19Relevance | 3 years ago | Dan | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| No such thing. Kia would never make and has never made an in-line 6. will require a mechanic to drop the entire engine to reach everything No, he’s wrong - there won’t be a need to drop the engine for spark plugs that’s for sure. It's a planned defect by Kia to force you to buy expensive mechanic car repairs get your tinfoil hat! and again, Kia does not make nor plans on making such engines. You mean Mazda. and no, last time I seen an in-line 6 the hood area was laid out extremely well and the engine was about the size of a 4 cyl: The S60 SI6 ... | |||||

| 2021 Kia K5 opinions | 15Relevance | 5 years ago | Michael60940 | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| What does everyone think of the new Kia k5? It has replaced the Kia Optima & I've been thinking of trading in my 2018 NissanSentra to purchase or lease the k5. I love the way it looks. I know Turbo engines don't last quite as long and CVT Trannys have a somewhat shaky rep, but I've heard that Kia has increased their quality. I would like Scotty's or the community's feedback on what are common problems with new Kias {black}:idontknow: | |||||
| Answer to: Highlander VS Telluride | 15Relevance | 5 years ago | Mod_Man | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| The difference is simple: One works, one doesn't. The Highlander is a good SUV with a proven track record. The Telluride is a Kia.....meaning "falls apart." Kia/Hyundai have some of the worst quality in the industry and the resale values are awful compared to Toyota. I wouldn't even consider the Kia. Much like people, you can make any car look nice but its what lies beneath that counts. And with Kia/Hyundai, it is not a pretty picture. | |||||

| A resounding NO to the Kia Optima, as it is a defective vehicle: 2011–2018 and certain 2019 Kia Optima, 2012–2018 and certain 2019 Kia Sorento, and 2011–2018 and certain 2019 Kia Sportage vehicles suffer from a defect that can cause engine seizure, stalling, engine failure, and engine fire, that engine seizure or stalling can be dangerous if experienced, and that some owners and lessees have been improperly denied repairs under the vehicle’s warranty. | |||||
| Buying a Kia for Turo? | 19Relevance | 3 years ago | random.new.user.1 | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Hey everyone! I was thinking of buying something under $25k to rent it out on Turo and Kia Forte and Sportage are at the top of the list in Seattle/Tacoma with 268.0% and 262% Annualized ROI. there are a couple of Kia models and Hyundai as well on that list Seeing the prices of used Kia being nearly as much as new cars, I was thinking of getting a new vehicle but also I've hear plenty from Scotty about Kia reliability . Could it be that they just paid Turo to come up with these magic ROI numbers? Well, any good advice would be highly appreciated, th ... | |||||
| Answer to: STAYAWAY FROM KIA! | 19Relevance | 3 years ago | MrBob | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| You might want to look into the Hyundai Accent. It's basically the same car off the same assembly line. They share the same drive train. Hyundai owns Kia or at least has a controlling interest. Hyundai keeps the Kia business separated from Hyundai. Hyundai is more established in the states. The dealers are more mature. Kia on the other hand is a relatively new comer and as a result the dealers in the states are immature and not very customer oriented. They have the attitude that the sales will just magically appear without any effort. I can't tell you how ma ... | |||||
| Answer to: Can you look at my Kia with a new engine replacement | 19Relevance | 4 years ago | FJCruiser2014 | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| What I'm understanding is that Kia tested your engine and it failed the test. If this is the case shouldn't it be replaced by Kia? Or at the very least even if you're paying for the engine if it's new shouldn't it have warranty on it? The 2014 Kia has six recalls according to NHTSA and all of them increase the risk of fire on these cars. Sell this car ASAP. If it still runs don't even go through the trouble of new engine; sell it to some place like Carmax and let them deal with it. | |||||
| Answer to: Used budget Kia versus used Toyota/Honda? | 19Relevance | 4 years ago | Dan | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Get the Toyota, Since around 2015 Toyota became obviously better than the competition. Honda is for the N.A market is significantly better than Kia. There's a thread on this forum about Hyundai-Kia (HMG) quality: Direct link to Scotty's opinion videos on Hyundai-Kia: Most of their cars are really low quality, they pretty much to not sell good cars on the North American market. To buy a Kia and not be very disappointed you really have to know what you're doing and what to expect - So for most people it's a pass. | |||||

| ... cars always do it - as it seems there's just a defect with some units but VW refuses to acknowledge that it's not "just software". - As far as the diesels, although European diesels tend to be better than their petrols - it's still an overly complex motor with lots of emissions tech strapped to it. But generally, similar to the VW DSG, Diesels also aren't for lots of city driving or for sitting in traffic jams. - The Peugeot has issues with the NOx filters, but the engine overall tends to be solid, and so is the transmission. It's not as good as PSA diesels ... | |||||

| Hello all! I have a 2017 Kia optima 2.4 L GDI that i purchased new ( I know what a shame.. a Kia). I have always been religious about oil changes and have gotten it every 5k miles. My last oil change was in December of 2021 and about 2 weeks ago I noticed every time i make a hard turn the oil light comes on my dash. I check the dipstick and nothing is on it. i did not even travel more than 3k miles and almost all my oil was gone. There are no engine oil leaks that I am seeing on my parking spot and my car is at 38k miles and am the first and only owner. Tel ... | |||||
