| Answer to: Nissan, Mazda or Infiniti | 20Relevance | 5 years ago | infinitifxfan | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Infiniti has no head gasket problems and it has the 3.0 V6 which is a bulletproof engine, FWD-based transmission which isn't a manual but it's solid for an automatic. Also, Infiniti is made in Japan and the Altima is made in the USA | |||||

| ... the cats, if it's a V6 they don't rlly have those issues unless they are abused. I would get a mechanic to check out the Infiniti since those i30 sedans are pretty good cars (it's just fancy maxima after all and they are all made in Japan) and if it's good, go with the Infiniti. | |||||

| Answer to: Should I buy CVT transmission INFINITI QX60 ? | 20Relevance | 6 years ago | Kerem | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| It could be a good car until 50 60k miles or so but the CVT is one of the weakest ever made don't expect more than 100k definetly no more than 120 130k out of that car. You leased it and that is the smartest decision. I personally would move on to a Toyota Highlander which could last 2.5-3 times more than the Infiniti. If you like the Infiniti and are fine with selling it in 2 3 years, then I guess sure you have done the maintenance yourself and know the condition. | |||||
| My 1994 infiniti J30's belts squeal for several seconds on startup. | 20Relevance | 5 years ago | thomasjstez | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Hi Scotty, I have a 1993 Infiniti J30 sedan (ONLY 72,000 MILES). Nissan VG 3.0 engine with a clutch fan. 3 belts (ac, power steering, and alternator), and the fan is belt-driven. I get a sequel for about 10-20 seconds on startup. I had new belts(FROM Infiniti DEALER) installed 10,000 miles ago, and had the tension of the belts adjusted once since installation because there was a sequel, and now there is a squeal again. The engine doesn't have any auto tensioners for the accessory belts on this car. 1) Is there any easy way for me to tell if it is th ... | |||||
| Answer to: 2019 Lexus gx 460 with 23k miles, 2018 Mercedes benz gls 450 with 40k miles, or 2018 Infiniti qx80 with 40k miles. | 20Relevance | 6 years ago | Kerem | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| ... a V8 but the Mercedes would just bankrupt you. Infinitis are OK definitely in between the Merc and Lexus but these are all high tech luxury SUVs and will become money pits eventually, for example the Mercedes after 6 7 years, Infiniti after 8 9 years, and the Lexus after 15 years (as an example). Owners on this forum say that their BMW and Mercedes SUVs "cost an arm and leg to maintain" and are a "serious moneypit" while Lexus V8 owners say that though maintenance costs were a bit high, "it was an ultimate road machine" For reliability you are better of ... | |||||
| Should I buy CVT transmission INFINITI QX60 ? | 20Relevance | 6 years ago | Tanmaykhwl | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Hi Scotty I leased Infiniti QX60 in 2018. Now it’s lease going to end in March 2021. Do you think it’s a good idea to buy the car? It has 22000 miles on it and no running problem as such. However I have to replace the tire and breaks may be. If it’s not a good idea to buy Infiniti then please suggest another 7 seater SUV. thanks tanmay khandelwal | |||||
| RE: Should I keep my Infiniti m35x 2010 | 20Relevance | 6 years ago | RocketmAAn | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| I would love o have that car. Infiniti fortunately didn't go the CVT route during those years. However, the 7 speed may have been, what Scotty terms, a cheap JATCO transmission(owned by Nissan and makes the cheap CVT trans that they use), so reliability may be an issue. Maybe cruise an Infiniti forum to see if people are having problems with it. | |||||

| P2A00, intermittent check engine light | 18Relevance | 2 years ago | rmay0632 | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| 2006 Infiniti g35 base sedan My check engine light comes on intermittently. I have a stored code P2A00. My question is whether the light should always be on if there's a stored code or does it only come on in real-time while a condition exists. I replaced the offending upstream O2 sensor but that didn't seem to help much until I added a can of ATS 505CRF to a half tank of fuel. Now the check engine light comes on intermittently. Any thoughts on diagnosing the causes of P2A00 would also be appreciated. I'm thinking of trying another fuel treatment, may ... | |||||

| 2007 Infiniti g35 sedan Started off as A BCM issue (moisture from clogged sunroof drain) killed my battery and possibly the alternator. So I replaced them both..still no power replaced the BCM. The starter battery cable harness, the positive battery terminal I'm going to replace the negative battery cable harness next but what baffles me I can get a jump and the car will power on but not start up so if the car being jumped and can power on does that eliminate it being any type of fuse issue | |||||

| P0420/30 after replacing cat converters | 18Relevance | 4 years ago | eetf1 | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| I just got P0420/30 codes after replacing cat converters and O2 sensors on my 2008 Infiniti g35 Journey sedan. Before replacement, NO codes were present. The cats are AP Exhaust direct fit units and O2 sensores Denso and NTK. Someone suggested to give it a try using Cataclean and erasing the codes to see if they pop up again. I'm not sure if this will help because everything is new (except the headers, where carbon may reside or not). Will Cataclean, at least, World not male the issue worse? Any comment will be much appreciated. | |||||

| Hello, I have learned from the YouTube channel Mr. Scotty, thanks for sharing your wisdom. My question today is specific to a 2003- 2 door Coupe- Infiniti- g35. The car does have rust beneath it in some areas. The engine sounds great & the car - until now- has been the highway car. Within the past week, there is a noticeable squeak when the car is driven & it sounds as though metal is rubbing on the tires (which it is not doing) and there is a clicking / almost grinding sound when accelerating. The synthetic oil change (Mobil 1- 5w-30) is sche ... | |||||
