| Thoughts on 10 Speed F150 | 26Relevance | 4 years ago | CurtParker72 | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Hello, I was just curious of Scotty’s and other people’s opinions on the 10 speed transmissions that come in the newer f150s. I’m looking at a 2019 f150 with 14000 miles. My dad has a 2020 f150 with the same transmission. It only has 30,000 miles and has given him no trouble. Just curious of people’s opinions on these transmissions. Thanks for reading and for y’all’s time | |||||
| Answer to: What should i choose as my first truck? 2020 Ford F150 XLT V8 5.0 or a Toyota Tundra. | 24Relevance | 5 years ago | Whatchamacallit | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Go with the Tundra if you plan to keep the truck for as long as possible and want minimal issues. If you really want a Ford F-150 get one with the 5.0L engine from 2011-2014. Also see below: | |||||

| I have a 1997 Ford f150 4.2 V6 4x4 5 Speed XLT Short Bed W/Flareside 92,000 Miles Long story short my dad found this truck abandoned on a big acre of land with a house and 3 garages. Since my dad works for a realtor we were hired to remodel the house. This land was abandoned for years (not sure how long) and other then the houses and garages and all the junk and valuables lying around, there were 3 abandoned trucks. One 1990s Ford Ranger, another 1990s Chevy S10, and the ole 90s Ford f150 just buried into the ground. The Ranger and S10 were both rotted a ... | |||||

| Hey, my buddy is selling his dad's old trucks. They are a 1990 ford f150 inline-6, and a 1990 ford bronco 5.0L. Both are automatics. These cars have been sitting for about 3 years due to dad losing his driver's license. Both ran when parked. Here's the rundown. He wants 2k for both. I already have a couple of reliable vehicles so these would be projects. I know the f150 was his daily that he drove all the time. f150 will pry need the tires, brakes, battery, and items like that. The Bronco was more of his weekend toy. In his garage, there is an extra ... | |||||
| Looking to purchase a truck this year! Wants options since reliability is a huge factor. | 20Relevance | 1 year ago | chisel87 | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Scotty, I'm looking to purchase a truck this year. We love our Toyota Sienna as our other vehicle, got it around 50K and have put another 100K on it, and its solid, no problems. I love how the f150's look, have driven multiple as rentals. Just after reading about them, knowing the ecoboost came out in 18-19, had a bunch of problems, and all the transmission problems everyone complains about from new f150's to other having only 30K miles, I'm extremely hesitant on purchasing a used f150 xlt with 50-70k miles. I don't even know if ford is reliable on an f150 i ... | |||||
| Answer to: Looking 4 a 1/2 ton | 20Relevance | 3 years ago | BobTheHatKing | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| ... ton but I'm just throwing it out there. Modern GM 1/2 tons are horrible too, but their 3/4 and full ton trucks aren't as bad. For an American truck, f150 would be the way to go, but nothing beats the Toyota Tundra. In the 12-19 range you gave they still had V8s which are better than the twin turbo V6 they have now. You'll pay more but it'll last so much longer. Do also look into a Nissan Titan. Scotty did a video on one earlier this year. idk how they match up to the f150, but vs the Tundra, while it's not as good, they're still pretty decent. Because they ... | |||||
| Answer to: P0174 code frustrated | 20Relevance | 3 years ago | MountainManJoe | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| it would be really helpful if you could tell us what checks, so we're not telling you to do things you've already tried. Absolutely it could. The definition of your DTC, P0174 ( ), is "System Too Lean". Lean means too much oxygen in the mixture, as detected by the O2 sensor in your exhaust. A leak in the exhaust introduces air into the exhaust stream that shouldn't be there. | |||||
