My vehicle has 186,000 miles and will only accelerate up to about 3000 rpm. Once it gets to that point, the engine stutters. I also plugged her in and was given these codes P0734, P1110, P0224, P1171, P1195. She’s a hand-me-down car that I received from my mother. It was used when she bought it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Judging from these codes, you have a very dirty intake system. The P0734 indicates low or dirty transmission fluid. When was it last changed? P1101 is a bad MAP sensor. These can sometimes be removed, cleaned and reinstalled but it's generally better to replace them. Check all wiring connections too. P0244 is the Throttle Positioning Sensor. Again, try cleaning and check electrical connections, but usually have to replace. P1171 ans P1195 indicate a malfunctioning throttle body. Check the connections and it probably needs a thorough cleaning with the appropriate spray cleaner (CRC).
I would clear all the codes, drive it and see what codes come back on.
The symptom indicates possible fuel starvation like clogged fuel filter.
I appreciate the feedback doc. I did clean the throttle body after removing the air filter assembly. I changed the transmission fluid in August of this year. How smooth should the intake swivel once it is cleaned? It was tough to manipulate open with my fingers in order to spray the cleaner. Disconnecting the battery turns the C/E light off and the car seems to want to work a tad more efficiently. However if I accelerate too quickly the car the light will pop back on and the throttle becomes extremely sluggish and nearly unresponsive.
