Hi all. My 05 corolla 312,000 has had a poor idle ever since 225,000. New motor mounts (all 4). New plugs at 300,000, cleaned the electronic throttle body, took it off used brake cleaner and a tooth brush, checked for vacuum leaks, replaced mass air sensor, it would read 2.0 grams at 750 rpm in park, shift to drive and it drops to 640 rpm and the grams goes up to 2.5. This is when it idles rough. I don't understand how it can run less rpm and draw more air. That's why I changed it and the new one (from the dealer) does the exact same thing. Air fuel ratio sensor runs at 3.3 and the cats have been gutted and a simulator installed. No codes set or pending. Runs great down the road. Also can you direct me to a great Toyota mechanic in Houston, TX. Thanks.

You got into cats all bets are off that will mess with the oxygen sensor and the mass air flow sensor. Try Jaime at Texan Auto on West Dallas in Houston
