Poor idle at stop lights and stalling.

2009 Toyota Corolla 1.8l auto with 80,000 miles.

Hey Scotty, my car sometimes stalls at red lights. The rpms will drop to about 400rpms and then hunt before stabilizing or usually stalls when I have the AC turned on. This was a junk yard engine I had a mechanic put in. Parts that were changed were: new battery, spark plugs, coils, fuel injectors, MAF sensor, crank sensor and the throttle body was cleaned. I’ve done the idle relearn twice so far, it idles better but still hunts or stalls when I stop or put into reverse with the AC on. It runs great when I’m driving. Maybe the PCV valve next?

Load test your battery and alternator.

Always change out the PCV valve when changing your oil, it's cheap insurance.  Remove, clean and reinstall you MAP sensor.  They also get clogged up.  How about the IAC and TPS?  Are they good?

This has neither a IAC or a TPS, all controlled by the ECU. The PCV is under the intake manifold, which needs to be removed to access the PCV.

It's NOT under the intake manifold.  It is on a large vacuum hose between the valve cover and the intake manifold under the plastic "beauty cover."  Right hand side of the engine, as you're facing the engine.

The engine is a 2ZR-FE. The PCV valve is under the #3 intake tube behind the manifold..

Sorry, you're right. Who designed this piece of crap?
