Should I buy this 2007 Corolla?

In the process of looking for an inexpensive, reliable A to B car, I found this 2007 Toyota Corolla with 192k miles on it on Craigslist.

The sellers description is this:

"Automatic Transmission, new air conditioning, new tires, new brakes, fully serviced , and currently registered. Runs great, dented rear quarter panel, little rocker rust. 192k miles."

I asked about underbody rust (i'm in upstate NY), and they said that's not an issue. By the way, their willing to sell for $2800. I know corollas are good cars, but should I be worried about the high mileage?

Thanks.

I saw a video today similar year Subaru in the rust belt of NY. The exterior and interior looked great for a car that old. The shop put it up on a lift and the car was nearly rusted out underneath. Luckily the people that bought it were able to get their money back from the dealer.

Don't believe anything that's said. Have it thoroughly checked out before you hand any money over. The Subaru I saw in the video should've been sent to the car crusher, not sold to some unsuspecting consumer.

the high mileage could be a concern. Could also be an oil burner. But I think being where you are, the rust and corrosion is a bigger concern.

They say it can last 300,000 miles. I seen quite a few for sale with 225,000 plus. Overall they are good cars. They have a few issues with evap system transmission, and a few minor electrical issues. Too me Something seems off. The book value is 3300 ish in okay condition and over 5000 in great condition. He is only asking 2700 that seem weird to me. Maybe he needs the cash but I don't trust anyone so I take everything wit ha grain of salt . I would have a mechanic look it over. If the car checks out everything is legit then I feel it's a good deal

All that new stuff done with a low price throws up red flags. Forgot that part.

It is a high mileage car but if everything checks out (from your trusted independent mechanic) then it can last some time if you want it for short distance driving needs. Not saying you can't buy good cars on craigslist, but unfortunately a lot of scams happen on there so you need to be very careful. Make sure about the tittle of the car being legit and clean title. Also, the outside doesn't look cosmetically good so that will definitely lower the price, but then all those repairs stated in the ad it wouldn't make sense for them to sell it this low.
