Which fuel should I put in my 2022 Skoda?

Hope you're enjoying your day.

Last month I ordered a 2022 Škoda Fabia (1.0 TSI 81 kW) that's to arrive in April.

The engine I chose is a turbocharged VW three-cylinder GDI.

My question might be a bit strange...what gasoline should I put into my new car?

Here in Europe we have a new type of gasoline called E10 which contains bioethanol.

It's been a huge issue around here for the past 2 years that this new bio fuel destroys fuel injectors and other components in older cars but I've seen people complain about post 2010s Mazdas not running right; too.

My '06 Kia Picanto (which was the biggest pile of junk ever) also suffered a fuel pump failure.

We also have a 98 octane premium gasoline and 100 octane gasoline. They are 7 to 10 cents more expensive per litre but don't contain any bio stuff.

The owner's manual says I should use Natural 95 (E10) or higher.

Should I risk it or not?

I don't care about paying premium for better fuel but I'm getting a brand new car and I don't want it destroyed prematurely.

Thanks;

Kristián

Go easy on it. A little engine like that with a blower on it is going to be stretched very thin.

GDI requires extra maintenance too keep the intake clean.

Such things are explained in the operating manual. (or even right on the gas filler) Follow that.

your new car should be equipped for ethanol

Well that's all I actually Burns cleaner and modern cars just realized you'll get worse gas mileage because ethanol has 20% less British thermal unit so it gets about 20 to 25% worst gas mileage

We've been running E10 here in the U.S. for quite a few years now and there have not been any widespread problems with older cars. All my cars are old (newest 23 years old, oldest over 50 years) and have had no problems.

The most badly affected have been small engines in lawn and garden equipment and the like, particularly small 2-stroke engines.
