HEY Scottie! Here in Britain our water melon, green on the outside red on the inside, ovetlords are bringing in a 10% ethanol mix petrol and looking to phase out all others mixes in 5 years time. Do you know if there are additives that can 'cure' this cursed fuel for older cars? Cheers. Kevin
We haven't seen much of a problem here in the U.S. and we've lived with that boondoggle for a long time now. I haven't noticed any problems with my older cars. (I'm talking 50+ years old here.) The ethanol is harder on rubber parts but on a decades-old car you should be replacing those anyway and replacements will be ethanol-resistant.
Probably the main issue is the ethanol blend goes stale a lot faster than pure gasoline. You'd want to add a fuel stabilizer to any vehicle that's going to be sitting around unused for months at a time.

I've not had any issues with it in 42 year old carbureted V8. I resurrected it a couple months ago and it ran on the 5 year old E10 gasoline that was still in the carb. I ran it all out and put brand new gas in it, it runs great. I wouldn't sweat the change.
I am fortunate in that I have a gas station near me that sells "Clear Gas", ie - no ethanol, for my 40 year old Toyota. I have used the 10% junk at other times and found that in the carburetor ( Weber 32/36) I replaced all the old rubber parts with the new, green Viton o-rings and seals.
