I have a 1995 VW passat variant manual, with 197500 kilometers on it.
Sometimes while driving down the highway, the rmp s' disengage ( the inidcator hand will drop and pops back up) during this moment i do loose the engagement of the engine.
Also the big problem comes when i can't start the engine. The engine WILL start but immediately the rmps will drop and the engine will turn off. sometimes starting it from gear will help, but it has no clear variables to tell any mechanic i have taking it too, to deduce the problem. (hot, cold engine; battery, anything etc....)
if any ideas i would love to hear them to take it to my new mechanic
I would check the easy stuff first.
1. Fuel filter - Is it clogged?
2. Spark Plugs - How do they look?
