Scotty, I have a 1997 Dodge Ram with 129000 miles. It is a 5.2 l v8 automatic with 2wd. The truck feels like it has no power in drive. It feels like it’s towing something. It did have a 1st cylinder misfire code but I cleared it and it hasn’t come back and isn’t idling rough. The gear shift has some play but I can feel the indent in all gears. It’s just when I step on it it feels ‘heavy’ and won’t go. Any thoughts!

You need to get it scanned for codes. My bet is a p0420 - catalytic converter.

Does it shift properly? It is possible that the torque converter might not be working properly and so you feel like the car is heavy.
