Hey Scotty,
I have been watching your videos for awhile and am just wondering why you don't talk about Subaru's much... just curious. I'm a 2014 Toyota Corolla man myself but looking forward to a Lexus upon retirement... 7-8 years.
Scotty reviews his customer's cars, so it depends on his customers.
You own Corolla, you want to buy a Lexus and you look for Subaru review. 🙂
Ha ha... Yes. See my comment in another answer.
Scotty has talked about them periodically. His take basically seems to be that current model Subarus are "OK" and have about the best AWD system if you need that feature, but overall they are not up to the reliability or longeity level of Toyota or Honda. Also Subaru CVTs, while not as awful as Nissan/Jatco, are Subaru's weakest point.
Thanks. Yes , Now that I'm a member of the forum I am looking up all the videos... Your reply is spot on. I just seem to hear people RAVE about them. I think what they are raving about is how good they are in the SNOW (AWD). Consistent to Scotty's comments.

I know quite a few people who own late model Subarus and they've been fine, seem to have very few problems. I used to own Subarus but it was a very long time ago. I had a 1978 model with front drive which was basically bulletproof except for rust. Also owned Subaru 360s, tiny 2-cylinder rear-engine sedan and van. Obviously not much in common with their current models so my own experiences with the company's products are not relevant to today.

Usually when Scotty mentions a car brand, it’s because quality is bad and/or getting worse. Subaru quality is mostly ok and generally getting better; no major issues for him to talk about. Besides, Subaru primarily makes outdoorsy wagony SUVs, which is not exactly Scotty’s jam.
