Why does my alternator regulator fuse keep blowing

I've asked about this truck before (was an alternator issue)

Head, gaskets, and timing belt has been changed. Plugs, wires, distributor cap (I think that's what they are?), radiator, alternator.... have all been changed prior.

My son tried to jump a car (cables were correct) (Car didnt start so he helped tow them home, about a mile) 2 days later the voltage regulator fuse (30 amp fuse) blew on the way to work, he changed it, made it back here. As he left here, fuse blew again! He made it to his house (about 10 minutes away). The plug to the alternator didnt stay connected (connector was broke) so he replaced that. Started truck, fuse blew again. Now the truck is also making a ticking noise (I'm trying to upload a video but not sure how to do that). He has done so many repairs but he's getting tired of this Fix Or Repair Daily! LOL

Any ideas? No codes are coming up (yet)

fuse blew again!

you probably have a short.

take all the fuses out of the main fuse block

unhook alternator

unhook the battery and put an ohm meter across the cables (it should read very high)

one by one put the fuses back in, watching the meter. if you see the resistance drop a lot (a few ohms or less) then that is the bad circuit

if not, connect the alternator, still watching the meter.

yeah sounds like it's one of the belt driven accessories.

Take the belt off, and turn each pulley with your hand

Ok thank you! I'll let him know to try that. I meant to say also that the ticking didnt start right away. I had gone to his house to bring him the alternator connector plug (I had to pick it up since he couldnt drive his truck) He replaced that, fuse popped, then later it started ticking.
