[Solved] 1998 Oldsmobile Aurora Ignition Issues

I have a 98 Oldsmobile Aurora that has started having issues with the ignition, which include: the ignition easily going from the on to off position or it struggles to stay in the on position when the ignition is turned on, and the key is stuck.

From what I understand, it should be my ignition switch that is the issue. However, when looking for parts on Rockauto.com I what I find is an ignition lock cylinder which at first I assumed to be the same thing but after further investigation figured out that there is in fact a difference. Anyway, at this point I'm pretty sure that replacing the ignition lock cylinder is what I need to do but just wanted to make sure I am right or that I'm not overlooking something.

Thanks for your help!

Other Info: Mileage is around 172,000; Automatic; Engine: 4.0L V8

Well it could be that but it also could be the electrical portion of the ignition switch I would probably change both myself

Thanks!
