Ok i was having a heat issue with my car i changed thermostat cause the car would take forever to warm up. So i refilled the coolant bleed the system got a little heat when it got to 190-195°F but not hot heat.. It's getting cold i read about vw blend doors going bad could that be my heat issue??
2000 vw jetta 2.0
How did you do the air bleed?
Cold engine I took the cap off. Jacked the car up on the passenger side and I Crunk up the engine let it idle BTW at this time the air is cold so I let it run for 15 mins at a idle and by that time I Rev the engine up to 2500 rpms to get the coolant to force the trapped air out but still no success after doing all that and the fan kicked on about 3 times I put the coolant bottle cap back on the car and still warmish heat the heat should be hot my upper and lower radiator hoses are hot to the touch even the heater core hoses was hot to the touch so I know for fact I DON'T got air in the system it would run hot if that's the case but my temp is fine.
You have air trapped in the cooling system.
I had the car jacked up tho and took the coolant bottle cap off cause ain't no radiator cap on these cars and ran the car up to temp and reved it up to 2500 rpms and still warm heat but no overheating issues what so ever the fans cut on at 208 degrees and still not losing coolant the thermostat is open up I feel like it's a heater core problem but I don't want to replace it cause it can get expensive
Feel both heater hoses to make sure they're hot.
Also, I would check to see if it has an air bleeder valve.
I checked it all the heater hoses are hot when the car warms up and it takes about 15 to 20 min to warm up but I know I should have heat even before the temp hand moves but still no heat just warmish
Sounds like a hot air vent door problem
Might be the case. Whack the dash to see if the blend door motor straits working. If there is no change, check your heater core.
@yaser
They work as should but vi heard on vw they blend doors got holes in them filled with foam but over time the foam can deteriorate and cause the blend door to bring in cold and warm heat cause the holes??
Hello guys I did a bleed on my cooling system on my vw jetta and I'm still getting little heat out my vents I changed thermostat and everything but still warmish heat?? The ONLY thing left is either the head gasket or the heater core car has 277000 miles on it but what you guys think?? I been 🥶lately and need heat immediately 😩
With the car off, fill the reservoir to full. Squeeze the radiator hose (behind the alternator) several times until no more bubbles come from the reservoir. Start the car and let it warm up to open the thermostat and keep topping up the reservoir as coolant is sucked into the system. Again, squeeze the radiator hose to expel air. If this doesn't get you heat, then you have a problem with your temperature selector or the heater core itself. I don't know why VW didn't use a radiator with a cap. Just cost cutting I guess.
Yeah vw cheap but I feel it's a heater core problem when I bought the car he had some stop leak in it it must of clogged up the heater core it's glittery stuff when I tried to flush it out and sometimes when I turn my heat on I smell coolant so I'm going after that heater core brother wish me luck
Sorry to hear that. The heater core seems like the next logical place to look, especially since some kind of stop leak material was previously used. These chemicals rarely fix the problem and in many case only cause more. If you can get to it, the valve that controls the high/low heat setting might just be gummed up with the stuff and could possible be the problem. It could be cleaned out and reinstalled without doing the entire core. Just a thought. Best of luck.
