01 Toyota Camry Automatic 2.2L 5SFE

325,736 Miles

I found snapped bearing cap bolts in the head when pulling valve cover, head replaced with rebuilt head. New Plugs, new PCV, New Vac hoses when found rotten.

torque specs used and new gaskets.

the car has code P0325. Knock sensor. code was present before the head job. Sensor Harness was found damaged and replaced with Dorman, issue still present,

knock sensor changed with Dorman replacement part.

codes reset and code gets triggered after hitting 4K+ RPMs.

I’m very concerned with the whining sound, I tried removing the Alternator / AC belt to see if it was the alternator or compressor, but the sound is still present.

in the video you can hear me pulling on the throttle slightly, and the whining sound gets louder with RPMs. The car was stumbling at idle and stalling but always starts right back up. I checked a few hoses for vac leaks and now she is hunting for idle but no longer stalling.

when I started the car a day ago this whining sound wasn’t present, but I think maybe it’s caused by me spilling coolant on the timing belt/pulleys or PS. Today I did check & retorque spec of the bearing caps all registering around 14ft-lbs.

it has very little power and I noticed a dripping fuel leak at the rear.

do you think the motor sounds healthy?

Do you think I need to trace down the wiring harness for the knock sensor wire?

is Dorman good or do I need to find a Denso replacement for this sensor?

I need to check for more vac leaks, find and fix the fuel leak, and probably spin the engine over by hand and ensure the timing marks still line up.

All right if you took the fan belts off in the wine is still there at your cam belt lining. So the bearing somewhere in there have gone and our whining could be the idler bearing all kinds of things
