A repair place told me that the P1130 code I've been getting is being caused by a vacuum line being knocked by my rack and pinion because the bushings are bad. He says the sensor has a vacuum line that runs past the bushings and that's where it's being knocked and the sensor probably isn't bad itself. So, to get rid of the code so I can smog, I gotta get that fixed.
Since replacing the whole rack and pinion is going to cost over a thousand dollars, can I just replace the bushings? Is it that difficult an operation to do at home?

Sure you can try to replace the bushings themselves if it's just rubbing
