Just picked up an 02 Avalon for my sons first car... couldn't talk him into a Matrix so... anyway, this is one of the codes I need to deal with. I'm not inclined to just throw a part at it, I want to diagnose it first... because codes sometimes don't mean what they are titled. Can you tell me the purpose of this part and if it's worth pursuing? I'm well versed with the civic and corolla level cars... this Avalon is packed with so much stuff I'm horrified by it, but with 164k miles and for $1500... how could I turn it down?
If it runs and breaks fine you could ignore it there's a sensor that gives brake pressure and sometimes the sensor breaks but the brake pressure is still fine if your brake pedal doesn't sink and the brakes are nice and hard you could ignore it
