Is it normal for the IAT to be 104 degrees at idle and then drop 30+ degrees when driving above 30 MPH?

That's a fine IAT. People get way too hung up on IAT numbers and don't realize that fluctuation happens, particularly while in motion. 

You're well into the green zone temp wise. No worries.

of course. When you're moving the engine gets fresh cold air.


I take it 104 degrees isn't too high?


We had 121F degree weather this year (in cold Canada!). Car worked fine.
For some places 104F is normal daytime temperature. Now imagine the temperature under the hood of their cars.
