What would you recommend between a 2002 Toyota MR2 Spyder and 2003-05 Mazda Miata. The MR2 has 70,000 miles and the Miatas are 100,000+ miles. I’ll have to purchase the MR2 out of state, but Miatas are available near to me. All are from private sellers. This will be my leisure car for fun and weekends. Have a 2021 Toyota RAV4 as a daily. Toss a coin! Difference is luggage. Miata allows you to take with you, for a trip, a spare pair of pants and loafers. MR2, … a skimpy Speedo and flip flops, … maybe!
Other than that, whichever you find in acceptable condition to you, first, … just get it!

Both are good but I would pick Miata as it is more practical with the space. I would recommend a standard transmission for enhanced driving experience.
