I parked my son's pick up a couple of months ago and I went to start it it turns over fine so I checked for spark and it does have spark I took a plug out and it is wet with fuel.  I also put my fuel pressure gauge on just behind the throttle body and I have 60 lbs of fuel pressure there but it still does not start. I put a harbor tool and Freight code reader on and it has no codes. It has a 3/4 tank of gas. It ran perfect with no codes before we parked it.

Did you try spraying some starter fluid into the intake?

is the throttle and idle control working properly?

I did try starting fluid and nothing happened but I do not know what the idle control is. I took the intake tube off and the throttle body does open and I can hear fuel going through the regulator I think I do hear noises inside the throttle body when I cycle the key

My next suggestion was to actually verify the ignition. Dion is on it.

lets get a few things straight here..you have spark but where.?..its not at the spark plugs as they are wet. THiS is a Vortec right?  You saw the spark at the coil to the cap i assume?  if so the cap is shorted from the tower to the body. Replace cap.    look inside..their probably is spack tracking inside....OR the rotor is the one which is shorting to distributor ground.

When I had the plug out and saw that it had gas on it I checked for spark there and it was sparking at that plug. I just went out and tried starting it again with starting fluid and still no fire so the cap probably is full moisture and it's not sparking at the right time.

Thank you I will put a distributor cap and rotor in tomorrow and check the in a little further I was just making sure I wasn't missing something weird with these trucks wouldn't let it start

The Vortec ignition has those ignition problems as i have worked on them...practically in my sleep when i worked at a fleet operation with about 60 Astro vans...same ignition system different body. Also if the plugs are soaked in fuel...you have to try to start the vehicle with the throttle floored to tell the ECM you want "Clear Flood" mode..meaning do no inject fuel in...The main thing is that your on the right trail here..your fuel pump is fine 60-66 PSI is thr spec. But make sure the fuel filter is good also....in case. of future possible problems. if you have ANY moisture in the cap the spark will always go to the point of least resistance which is ground. Alright..good luck!

Yes those 4.3s had PITA distributors. I don't miss distributors.

So did you test ALL the plugs?
