I have an '04 Corolla with about 227k miles on it. Has an automatic transmission and when its about to shift into 3rd gear it hesitates and when it makes it into 3rd it whines its not real bad but its there. Checked the transmission fluid and its full. Am I looking at having to replace the transmission soon?
Maybe not soon but eventually. Whining means bearings are going bad

Can I just get the bearings replaced? Would that be cheaper than waiting for it to fail completely and having to get the transmission rebuilt? Curious what something like this would cost and how much a rebuilt transmission would cost.
Also would adding some kind of anti slip or changing the transmission fluid help any or no?
