Good day. Got a 2004 Toyota Tacoma 3.4 with 310,000 miles. The ac is not properly working. The air in the cabin is somewhat cool but the low side is not cold at all. I hooked up a gauge and it's reading low but the ac compressor is turning on as it should. I tried adding a can and it takes the can but instead of getting colder it stays the same, also the gauge goes down instead of up when adding the refrigerant. What could it be?
Clarification: What kind of gauge did you use? What are the low side and high side pressure readings? You need to know both.
Need to change the ac compressor, so what is the easiest way to go about it?
are you aware of that you need a fair bit of equipment and expertise to work on A/C, like a vacuum pump?
You might consider having it done by a professional.
Yes I am aware of what's needed. I got a buddy with the vacuum pump. I'm just curious to see what's the easiest way to go about it.
Well I'd say you have something like a broken expansion valve or a bad compressor
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
Good day all. A 2004 Toyota Tacoma prerunner 3.4lengine and 344,000 miles.
Need to change the ac compressor, so what is the easiest way to go about it? Through the wheel well, under the truck or under the hood? Any tips to make the job easy? Thanks.
Will look at these thanks.
