Hi Scotty,

Have a friend who inherited a 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan 3.3 V6 SE, automatic 154,000 miles. They have 5 codes p0113, which the IAT is reading -40 C (bad sensor and connector is bad), then has p0300 and p0304 (plugs and wires are old, does have spark, does have 125 or so dry compression and 155 or so wet compression.) The last code p0032 Lambda AF sensor as well as p0462 fuel level sensor issue. Also has a overheating issue which showed old antifreeze all over the place. Told them it is such a mess leaking oil and coolant to get rid of it but they want to keep it. What would be there best option? They acted like they wanted to get rid of it at first and now they act like they want to keep it and fix it.

Their best option would be to buy a bus pass, if they’re adamant on keeping this vehicle.

My dad had a 2002 dodge caravan v6 with the same engine/tranny under the hood. He beat it up really bad by carrying really heavy stuff in he and got 105,000 miles out of it. In 2012, my mom was on the highway and the transmission died. The v6s on the caravan really burn out the transmission on the car as they are not well paired. I suggest your friend sells it and avoid the repairs to avoid an incident like my mom had. and I suggest after that he gets a better van that like a Toyota sienna or honda odyssey.
