Hi. i have a 2005 LX Coupe with 194k miles. the car runs fine and rarely gets hot when the AC is off, but when i turn the AC on, it automatically overheats.
here are some things i've done before:
- new intake
- both fans are spinning on the rad
- clean intake
- new thermometer
- tightened inlet and outlet pipes for rad
- checked rad for damage
- always put in more coolant
not sure what else i have done since this car has had so much maintenance done to it, but what i do know is these 2 things:
- when i take it to shops (new shop each time) they say they tighten some lugnuts and charge me A LOT of money for the "repair" and when i take it back, they claim that there is nothing wrong with the car and that i am lying about the overheating
- there is a slight coolant leak that i know of that is not coming from the rad, but possibly the engine or a pipe. my best guess is a blown head gasket
Please, Scotty, or any other mechanics, if you are reading this, email me here:

^ also, do this if you want me to send an image of the "leak"
(that email is spelled wrong, i know)
thanks for the help!

If the fans do indeed run fine, replace the radiator radiators get old and corroded inside and when they get the extra heat of AC then they make them get hotter. Realize the AC condenser is in front of the radiator. So all that hot air blows in front of the radiator when you turn the AC on making a week radiator run hotter
