I have a 2007 Kia Sportage automatic that has a aftermarket radio in it. The radio has been working fine since it was put in yrs ago. It quick working 2 days ago. I pulled the dash off and looked at the radio fuse in the back of the radio and it is fine. Went to door panel fuse area and looked and found that the av which controls the audio was a blow fuse. Now it was suppose to be a 10amp but it was a 30amp. Try replacing it was a 10 and it blew the 30 below it which is the p/conn fuse. (Power conn). replaced those 2 again and it blew the 30 pconn again. Replaced it again and aslo replaced the av with a 30 like it was before and it blew. Not really sure what to do now. Its all alittle confusing.
The radio quit working and you found a fried AV fuse in the fuse box.
Sounds like you have a short to ground between the AV fuse in the fuse box and the fuse in the back of the radio.
Just because it didn't fry the P/Conn fuse along with the AV fuse the first time doesn't mean anything.
If you don't put a fuse in the AV fuse slot, the P/Conn fuse doesn't blow.
If you put a fuse in the AV slot, both the AV fuse and the P/Conn fuses blow.
AV fuse power goes through the P/Conn fuse.

Power connector fuse. Your vehicle is equipped with a power connector fuse to prevent battery discharge if your vehicle is parked without being operated for prolonged periods.
Use the following procedures before parking the vehicle for prolonged period.
1. Turn off the engine.
2. Turn off the headlights and tail lights.
3. Open the driver’s side panel cover and pull up the “P/CONN 30A”.
NOTICE • If the power connector fuse is pulled up from the fuse panel, the warning chime, audio, clock and interior lamps, etc., will not operate.
You need to find the short circuit you have in the system.
