2007 Odyssey timing belt

Bought it Aug 2018 from original owner, it had 85,000 miles on it.  He had all servicing done at dealer where he bought it.  The belt,  tensioner and pump were replaced at 60,000 miles (June 2014) when it was 7 years old.  The dealer probably talked him into it because Honda recommends replacing the belt at 100,000 miles or 7 years (I obtained the service history printout from the dealer March, 2021).

The van now has 106,000 miles on it (46,000 since the belt was replaced).  The belt is now 7 years old.  Should it be replaced now or when the belt has 100,000 miles on it (which would take the van to 160,000 miles) or somewhere in between.  if I continue to drive the van 7,000 miles a year the current belt will be 14.71 years old when the van reaches 160,000 miles.

Thanks,

RichR

When it comes to Odyssey timing belts, change them early. Actually, change them earlier than early. My mom's 06 Odyssey blew the belt almost exactly on schedule and grenaded both heads, costing her well over $2000 to repair. With an interference engine you really can't be proactive enough about replacing them.

I would change it because of the age. Being an interference engine, you don't want it to break and ruin the engine.
