2007 Tundra engine noise

Hey Scotty,

Got a 2007 Toyota Tundra Crew Max with a 5.7, got about 210,000 miles. Every time for the past few years when I go on vacation (fly away for more the 5 days) when we get back to the car lot and I go to start my truck, it makes a god awful sound of metal on metal in the engine (I'm 99% sure it's the pistons). It last about 10 seconds (if that), but it worries me to no end. Is there a reason why? Is it a common problem? The noise does go away quickly and does not come back, till again, I go somewhere or don’t drive it for a week or so. I’m sure its due to the light oil draining to the bottom of the engine, but is there anything I can do to stop it from happening. Go on vacation in June for 2 weeks and really don’t want to return to that sound (if you know what I’m saying).

Any advice would be appreciated.

Love your videos and appreciate them more then you know. My grandfather was the lead mechanic at Ken Dixon Chevrolet (when it was there) and retired the minute computers start taking over the engines. You and your knowledge reminds me of him so much. Keep it.

Thanks for any advice,

Adam R. Scherer

Might be piston slap or many other things. A video demonstrating the sound may help.
