Hey Scotty I own a 2007 v6 4.0 liter manual mustang I’ve had since it had 75k and now it’s at 111k. I never had any issues you think it still has some life in it or should I sell it and get something more gas efficient. I love the car I’m not going to lie it’s fun I haven’t really done any major mods to it just a cold air intake and a H-pipe welded on exhaust.
I have owned a small fleet of V6 Mustangs over the years. I had good experiences with all of them, but the 4.0L V6's were the best in the bunch.
Thank you very much I feel more confident about keeping it now. I enjoy it I drive it hard sometimes and it’s never failed me. Any modifications you recommend for longevity and maintenance rather than speed?
Not really. You've already dome the intake and exhaust to help it breathe better. About all I would say is keep up on the maintenance and use good fluids.
Hang on to it, those Mustangs are actually pretty solid.
Stick to it! The 4.0L Cologne V6 Mustangs were very reliable. You could see another 150k - 200k miles out of that motor if you take care of it.
Thank you for your response I appreciate it! Do you own a v6 mustang too? I drive mine hard sometimes not always and it’s treated me well I keep up with all the liquids.
You've got a good one, keep it. Main reason I don't still have my manual V6 'stang is that previous owner was a smoker and no matter what I did, I couldn't get rid of the cigarette odor.
Thank you I appreciate that! You got a Camaro now?
Yeppers...don't like the new Mustangs.
From what I've heard back then the V6 engines were pretty solid.
