Hi, I have a 2008 Buick enclave cxl AWD. We've had some transmission issues with it. The transmission would slip out of gear and/or get stuck in gear. I could cut it off and back on and it would be right back in gear.
However, a couple days ago while riding down the road it slipped. I put it in neutral like I always do, cut it off, and I always let the speed drop down then cranking back up and go. But this particular time when I cut it off I had to pull over bc it wouldn't crank. We waited about 5 mins. My husband put some water in the radiator reservoir and it cranked right up and I was able to get home.
I did notice on the dash that the service stabilitrak light came on. After getting home that night, the next morning the car wouldn't start. It will turn over and crank but won't stay started.
He cleaned the mass air flow and sensor and the battery is good. We have a jump box so we did put it on there just in case, but that seems to check out fine.
My husband works on our car. We don't usually use a mechanic. Where can we start with this? Also, it does have gas in it. We literally had just stopped at the station and put gas in. It was on empty.
Could it be bad gas? Also, before he cleaned the mass air flow and sensor it would crank but just wouldn't stay started. Now since he cleaned it it won't even crank.
Please help because this is the only vehicle we have!
Hi!
You have not provided any information about the engine and mileage. However, there is something in FAQ that might help

Good luck!
Allowing an fuel injected car to get to empty on fuel is usually the kiss of death for your in the tank fuel pump.
The video links that @g-t gave you will help you figure out the crank, no start issue.
I'd be more concerned about that transmission issue.
Anyway. unplug the MAF sensor and see if it will run
I'm with @Doc on this one. You may have faulty fuel pump. Try some starter fluid.
