2008 focus 2.0l 4cy, Auto trans, no codes.
165,000 while driving one day, I went to reverse out of a spot, and it wouldn't engage/ go into reverse gear. all other gears work perfect, and there was no grinding nor sounds of any kind. now sometimes it will go into reverse and sometimes it won't. another thing I noticed is it will never engage in reverse when car is cold, sometimes it will once car has been driven and warmed up. any help is appreciated. thanks!

When reverse gear goes out, then the rest of the transmission goes out later on. Best bet is to take to a transmission specialist.
