2008 honda civic hybrid
why do i have to wait 45 minutes in order to change gears, the car dont want to, but after i wait 45 minutes ( only once in the morning, after that i drive the car for 10-12 hours straight no problem) anyone help? i just changed the transmission strainer filter and the transmission fluid filter and the other can filter, still i have to wait 45 minutes. i took out the sensors and cleaned them dry to help. still doing the same thing. i have no codes for that. and guess what i do charge my battery pack with a grid charger, with no issues at all, 30,000 miles still running strong. car has 202,000 miles. can anyone help me figure this out? i replaced most parts with brand new original oem, even new 12 volt battery. help me asap
i hired 2 mechanics and they have no clue what it is, their live data was very basic and none bother to hookup a real computer to see all the numbers and values, there goes my money!
Do you mean it won’t go into R or D? Or it won’t move after you shift into R/D?
it will idle rough when going to reverse, D seems to be better. again, only needs 45 minutes warm up, after that the transmission does work and i can drive it on the freeway all day long with no problems. Iam thinking i should add 205 re seal, because if i do reverse right away abd let the idle stay rough, the low oil pressure lights come up and i have to restart my car again. so this is the only thing
Although I do not know much about the logic that power Honda’s “Integrated Motor Assist”.
But from what I’ve been seeing, usually these kinds of faults have nothing to do with the transmission- but with the hybrid system.
If you have all data for your car, try to find if they have the logic for shifting into D.
Maybe try not charging it all the way with the grid charger? Or maybe don’t charge it all? I think that might change its behavior.
ok ill try that
why do i get a red symbol for low/ high pressure but no codes for it, if i do try to enagage in gear before the 45 minute warm up? anyone help
which logic part is the one for shifting?
What do you mean "red symbol for low/ high pressure", the engine oil pressure? if so it probably required repair asap
Logic as in the conditions required to shift, some cars have those.
Your trans is shot.
no sir, read my post again.
No thanks.
Sounds like it's time for a rebuild.
