Dear Scotty,
I have a 2008 Lincoln Mart LT, with 200,686 miles. It is an automatic transmission with 4x4. My a/c compressor recently went out and was replaced with OEM parts from Ford. new a/c compressor, condenser, accumulator, and orfice tube. there was contamination in the orfice tube. The new condenser from Ford came with instructions that it was redesigned and the amount of refrigerant it needs to take is 1.89 lbs. The a/c was blowing nice and cold yesterday. Today took it for a drive and noticed it would blow humid air at a stop light. Once I started to drive it would start blowing cold again, and it goes down to 62 degrees Fahrenheit from the air vent. When I arrived at my dance studio. I noticed it stopped blowing cold and the temperature was reading at 80 degrees Fahrenheit from the air vent. When I got home. I put my a/c machine and did a recovery and it pulled 1.539lb and it's supposed to be 1.89lb. So I a vacuum system on it for about 15 minutes. I also did a leak test and it passed the leak test. Once it was completed the vacuum system. I let it sit for about 25 minutes to see if the vacuum would drop and it did not. The pressure stayed the same and I put a charge on it. The readings on the high side were 425 psi and on the low side at 55 psi. once the engine was turned on. Within a few seconds, the psi on the high side increased to 500 psi and the compressor turned off and the Psi dropped to 250 psi, the compressor engaged and right away jumped to 500 psi and the cycle continued. I am not sure if it's a bad fan clutch or a blocked evaporator. The pressure switch sensors were placed 3 years ago with original parts from Ford with the updated connector on the accumulator.
You've got a blockage somewhere. You had stuff accumulated when you took it apart and that means the system had stuff and it's almost impossible to get them all out without replacing every single part. Evaporator condenser hoses you name it. That's the problem with fixing AC systems when they break down
