Hi Scotty! I know you hate Nissan and I agree that most of them are junk but the 2008 Nissan Altima Coupe 3.5 SE I'm looking at has a 6-spd manual transmission, no AWD and 120K miles. Would that be a safer bet than most Nissans or should I just stay away? Thanks!
@npxm
i had a 2010 3.5 with the CVT, 160K miles, those early coupes had known head gasket issues, I had mine covered under warranty, at 100K it was time for new plugs per the manual, noticed one of the valve cover gaskets were leaking ($400).. other than that, followed strict maintenance as per the manual without any other problems.
Please have a mechanic check it out because people drive those like maniacs. I did as well however it was very rare.
The 2.5 Altima's have headgasket issues but the 3.5's are quick and very reliable. The manuels are good as well. It's worth absolutely nothing I wouln't pay more than 3500 but get it checked by a mechanic and if he says everything is good then go ahead it could be an excellent vehicle.
Sure have a look, but it’s worth practically nothing. Get it inspected by an honest mechanic, before you actually buy it.
