I have a 2009 Dodge Avenger 2.4L VVT and the steering wheel is making an odd clunk noise, you can hear it when only turning it in certain points and you can feel like a thump in the wheel when it happens; any idea on what it could be?

let someone else turn the wheel while you get under the car so you can actually see/hear what's going on

Its been looked at 3-4 times and they can't figure it out, I was assured its not an emergency type of thing so not to worry; but I mean the sound is annoying as hell..

that's funny. If you don't know what the problem is, how do you know if it's worth worrying about.

I worry about everything lol

Check the steering shaft coupling joint for looseness , wear or failure.

I checked under the steering wheel and it felt fine, there is no knocking under the column; I can just feel it within the steering wheel no where else.
