2009 Jeep Patriot shaking

Hey Scotty,

I have a 2009 Jeep Patriot Sport 2.4L with 160,000 miles (second owner at 65K).  I've had to replace the Intake Runner Control Valve three times in one year on this thing since it kept tripping that code.  When I give it gas it acts normal until about 20mph. At that point it'll start shuddering and shake a little until reaching 40mph or so.  At that point it acts completely normal until I slow down below 20mph and it repeats the same thing.   Theres a noticeable "whining" noise that i'll hear every now and again and its done that for years with no affect on the car.  No other codes are ever tripped.

Im going to replace the spark plugs and look at the motor mounts, but I cant think of anything else thats wrong.  I know these things have bad CVT Transmissions, but I dont feel the transmission "slipping".

The Trans fluid was changed once in its life with regular oil changes at 4K miles.  The oil looks surprisingly good for a car with 160K miles, but I noticed it did consume 1qt of oil over the last 4K miles. First time that has happened.

Can you think of anything that causes the car to shudder and spudder like its doing at 20-40mph?

Thanks

Well, you keep replacing the control valves but the intake runners themselves inside the manifold. They're probably breaking down the stick and they'll do exactly what is happening to yours. You probably need new one
