Trac and ABS and check Brakes dashboard/Idiot lights are on. Would the video help?

You can post a link to the video but what you really need is a diagnostic scan with a high-end scan tool. Those are computer-controlled systems and without data it's just guesswork.

@chucktobias yes , i do agree a high end scan is much needed, ..the drive by mechanic scan didn't show much only that a Solenoid was bad.. - how do i do video post?

@chucktobias I ment a sensor But it couldn't pinpoint where..

@jupiter-dan We can see the lights but you still need a high-level diagnostic scan to find the underlying cause.

Seems like I saw somewhere that a lot of these shifters have a little switch that activates, if the switch goes, or the solenoid that activates the switch is bad it'll leave your shifter in the locked position.

I don't have specifics about your car, but I hope this points you in the right direction.

@mr-teacher My thanks to your response. With both the trac n a b s lights on the dash ....Yes, pressing the bypass button (with brake paddle ) alongside the shifter does will release The transmission out of park. We still need to diagnose the problem...
