Hey Scotty!
I have an ‘09 Scion xB with 110,00mi on it. I’ve had it for 3 years, and recently it’s started making a squeaking noise when I break.
I took it to get the pads replaced not too long ago, and shortly after they got replaced it started squeaking again!!
What could it be?
Unfortunately, the shop used cheap pads. That’s it. If you don’t mint the noise, drive it and it will go away.
Probably, good to know. Thank you!
Did they install brake hardware & did hey grease the outer portion of the pads, the way Scotty recommends in his videos?
Honestly though, if your braking performance isn’t affected, I wouldn’t worry about it.
Scotty recommends Akebono brake pads for the quietest sounding brake pads.
I’m honestly not sure, I took it to my dad’s mechanic because I was in town visiting him and he didn’t say much. Probably not though :/
If it stops normally, just live with the noise. Try to stick with Akebono brake pads for your next brake job.
Sounds good! I won’t have to live with it anymore though as I recently just bought a GS 350, so I will definitely go with akebono pads on that!
Congratulations & good luck with your Lexus!
Thank you! I can’t wait to have a Lexus daily driver instead of a scion; from bottom to top of the Toyota totem pole!
That’s the way..
