Scotty - we have a chance to buy a 2009 Sienna with 73,000 miles for our grand daughter who is a teacher and needs a van. Owner wants $8000. Grandmother owned it back in Illinois, a very high road salt state. Its here in Colorado now.
I have seen many complaints about the power side sliding doors failing. Might be cable frayed and broke or door motor overheated and failed or some other related issue. Is the power sliding door failures a big problem with these 2009 Siennas? Is it a good reason to not buy it? Toyota will not perform repairs even though there is a TSB on it. COst to repair is $2000 per side. Thats $4000. Everything else about the van is almost perfect, no dents or even door dings, interior is almost perfect as well. We have been looking for a Sienna like this with the 3.5L engine and timing chain for some time now, this is the first one that seems worth buying. What do you think about this sliding door issue? Can it be related to not lubing bearings and tracks maybe? Thanks Jimmy
Keep the videos coming ! Thanks and Merry Xmas and New Years
Doors don't work cars not worth half what she's asking so I would not buy it at that price
Hi Scotty - the doors work just fine right now. Smooth, quiet, and they lock like they should. My concern is for how long will they continue to work. Is this a real problem with these vans? Enough of a problem to stay away from them? thanks...
Seems overpriced
Real market value is less than 4 5 grand.
