- I have a 2010 Ford Focus sel with 126,000 miles. I just recently had a issue with it shifting. When you get up to approximately 25 miles per hour and the transmission goes to shift it revs up and you have to let off for it to shift. The first time it did it the little wrench light came on and then the check engine. Then they wen away for a while and now it’s just the wrench light that comes on one and a while. Any idea what’s wrong?

Is your car fitted with the Powershift DCT transmission which is part of the class action lawsuit against Ford?
No, it is just the 4 speed auto. (BTW im the owners friend)
Scan the car for any trouble codes. Have you/they already checked the transmission fluid level & condition? Has it ever been changed?
Transmission fluid level is good. Checked that. Tras fluid has never been changed though. No codes currently. The mechanic said it should go to the dealer to get the transmission re-progtammed but they can't guarantee it would fix it
What color is the fluid? Does it smell burnt? Are there any metal shavings in the fluid?
