2011 Lexus IS 350 AWD - Max Wheel Size

Hi all,

I own a 2011 Lexus IS350 AWD and I'm looking to increase my rim size, as the stock ones are 17". I am sticking to the same bolt pattern - 5x114.3 mm and 40 mm offset (although 45mm offset is the standard). However, I would like either an 18" or 19" wheel but the width of the wheel will now be 8.5" so I am wondering, will there be any issues such as rubbing or hitting the wall of the fender? The online fitment results state that an 18" x 8.5" and a 19" x 8.5" will fit. I'm aware of having to get a different tire size, but I just want to see if anyone else has 18" or 19" rim sizes and if there has been any issues with having these sizes since I do have an AWD - the staggered wheels/tires won't work so I want to make sure.

Thanks.

The only way your tires will work is if you have a bigger wheel and smaller sidewall to compensate, otherwise, your speedometer will be off. Idk how AWD works on that car, but it's all computer controlled. Non-OEM tires may mess up the AWD system. Just go with the wheels you already have; they were made specifically for your Lexus. Bigger wheels = more strain on your drivetrain. It will cost an absolute fortune when your drivetrain malfunctions.

You might want to take a look at these posts on the Lexus forum - there would seem to be a lot of discussions of this particular issue
